How our drapery cleaning process works
Reading Sun City Drapery Before We Clean
Decades of sun and dust build up so slowly that nobody notices until the panels are cleaned. The fabric is tested first, then cleaned in place, and the difference is dramatic.
Sun City homes were built with wide sliders and picture windows facing patios and golf courses, and the drapery on them is wide and heavy. The visit is planned around the full footage so it's done in one trip.
A house shut up for summer still breathes. The air conditioning cycles every day, pushing the same dust past the same drapery while nobody is home to notice. By fall, panels near the return vents and on the sunniest wall carry the heaviest share. Drapery cleaning clears all of it, curtains and pleated drapery alike, and the fabric feels soft in the hand again.

Questions We Hear
Can you schedule around when I'm in town?
Yes. Many Sun City residents book right after they arrive for the season, and a neighbor or caretaker can stand in to approve the price while you're away.
Can drapery be cleaned in an active adult home without moving furniture?
Yes. Nothing moves and nothing comes down. Chairs, tables, and lamps at the window are worked around, and the panels are back in use as soon as each room is finished.
Are older pinch-pleat drapes too fragile to clean?
Not most of them. Pinch-pleat panels from the original furnishing are tested for fiber strength first, and the few that are too brittle are identified before any cleaning. The rest come through clean and hanging straight.
How often should drapery near the kitchen be cleaned?
Every one to two years. Cooking puts a light grease film in the air that settles on nearby fabric and binds dust to it, so kitchen and dining room panels soil faster than bedroom drapery. Waiting longer lets that film harden into a stiff, yellowed face.
Will the folds in the stack look uneven after cleaning?
No. Soil is lifted evenly from the exposed outer folds and the protected inner ones alike. Any difference left between them is sun fading on the outer face, and that is pointed out at inspection before work begins.
