Rug Cleaning in Carefree, AZ
Silk, viscose and collected rugs, each identified before cleaning.
Many Carefree rugs are collected pieces: hand-knotted Persians, silk, and antiques. Each is assessed for fiber and dye before any cleaning begins, right in the room.

The State of Carefree Rugs
Fine rugs demand a full assessment before cleaning. Dyes and condition are tested, and what the tests show sets the method.
Carefree's dry high-desert air keeps fine dust suspended, and it settles into rug foundations between cleanings. Collected pieces get a slower, more deliberate approach, and every step is explained before we start.
Designer-furnished rooms around The Boulders bring viscose and bamboo silk into the mix alongside true silk and wool. Viscose looks like silk but loses strength when wet and yellows under the wrong treatment, so it is identified before any moisture touches it. A Persian rug and a viscose look-alike can share one room and need opposite handling, and each one gets exactly the process it can take.

Questions We Hear
Can you clean an antique rug in my Carefree home?
Yes, once it's tested. The piece is assessed first and you get our exact recommendation before work starts.
Can you clean a viscose or bamboo silk rug?
Yes, after testing. Viscose weakens and yellows when overwetted, so it gets minimal moisture and a careful hand. A piece that has already lost fiber strength is identified at inspection.
Will my designer's rug placement stay exactly as it is?
Yes. Rugs are cleaned right where they lie, so placement, pads and furniture arrangement stay as your designer set them. Nothing is rolled up or carried out of the room.
Why does my rug look lighter from one end?
Pile direction. Fibers lean the way the rug was woven, so looking with the nap shows a lighter, shinier face and looking against it shows a darker one. It is normal and most visible on silk and viscose.
Can candle wax come out of a rug?
Yes. Let it harden, lift away what breaks off, and leave the rest. The remaining wax is drawn out of the fibers at the visit. Colored wax can leave dye behind, which is treated separately and may lighten rather than vanish.
