How our rug cleaning process works

Rugs Across Phoenix Homes

Phoenix runs its air conditioning most of the year with the house sealed, so the same dust cycles down into rugs again and again. We remove what has settled in the foundation, treat pet contamination at its source, and give you a straight read on every stain before work begins.

Gravel and decomposed granite yards surround much of the city, and every trip in from outside carries sharp particles onto the entry runner. Those particles cut wool and synthetic fibers alike at the base of the pile. Runners and doorway rugs get the slowest, deepest pass of the visit for exactly that reason.

Vintage wool came with plenty of central homes, either inherited with the house or carried in by family. A wool rug takes daily traffic well, but high heat and heavy wetting shrink it and send color bleeding into the fringe. Every rug is tested first, then cleaned at a moisture level and temperature set for that piece, whether it lies in a Camelback East ranch or a Desert Ridge great room.

Rugs in Phoenix Condos and High-Rises

A rug in a Camelback high-rise is cleaned in the unit, and nothing is carried through the lobby or onto the elevator. Access, parking, and elevator use are coordinated with building management before the visit, so the appointment fits the building's rules.

Pools, Patios, and Pale Spots

Pool water tracked across a rug by the patio door leaves chlorine in the pile, and chlorine strips color from wool. A pale patch near the back door is more likely chlorine than sun, and like sun fading, it is a change to the dye that cleaning cannot reverse.

A runner or mat at the pool door takes that hit instead of the living room rug. Wet feet and wet dogs also carry fine soil that turns to a gray film once it dries, which is why patio-side rugs dull faster than the rest of the house.

Pricing follows fiber and square footage, so a synthetic area rug in newer construction runs $3 to $4 per square foot, well below a hand-knotted Oriental.

Phoenix Rug Pricing in Practice

A single small synthetic falls below the $350 visit minimum on its own. Pair it with a second rug, or with drapery or blinds, and the same trip covers more of the house.

Specialty Rug Pages

Wool takes more care than any other common rug fiber, and wool rug cleaning covers how we handle it. Hand-knotted pieces are on Persian and oriental rug cleaning, and accidents have their own page: pet urine and odor rug cleaning.

Questions We Hear

Why does pet odor come back in my rug during monsoon season?

Humidity reactivates contamination sitting in the foundation or backing. We measure how deep it goes and set expectations before treating it.

Do you offer rug cleaning in newer Desert Ridge homes?

Yes. Every part of the city is served, from Desert Ridge great rooms to central ranch homes. A machine-made synthetic and a hand-knotted wool piece each get their own method once testing is done.

Will cleaning shrink my wool rug?

No. Shrinkage comes from excess heat and water, and both are controlled on every wool piece. The foundation is checked first, and moisture is set to what that particular rug can take.

What size rugs do you clean?

Any size, from a 2x3 bath mat to a 12x18 under a dining table. Every rug is priced by its actual square footage.

Do I need to vacuum before you arrive?

No. Leave the rug as it is. Nothing needs prep before the crew arrives.

Can red wine or coffee come out of a wool rug?

Both respond well when they have not been set by heat or a harsh home cleaner. The dyes are tested first, and an older stain is treated in stages.

Do you apply protectant to rugs?

Yes. Protectant is $75 per rug. It is applied after cleaning, once the pile is free of soil, and gives you time to blot a spill before it soaks in.
